I know I was absent for a long time. And first I want to deny all the rumors I've read over the last month: No, I don't hate the community here! No, I didn't leave DA for good! And No, I am not dead!!! (honestly guys, do you really believe someone died when he doesn't post anymore?)
In fact I often visit DA, read the comments and surf the pics. I often came here an wanted to post a message, give a lifesign or anything. And then I read all those demanding and cute little messages like „Post new things NOW!“ or „We want more!“ and so on! And then I think: "Fuck you all you greedy bastards!"
But then I read all those other comments from people who are understanding, who tell me that they miss me (or at least my art) but understand, that life priority, who defend me when some freak gets cheeky even if I was silent for so long. And then I want to post something. But then I think: „No! When you return, you have to post something cool for the true fans!“ resolving to draw a picture soon. And that's, when I leave the page without posting anything.
To all you guys who were so true to me all the time I have to say: I'm really sorry for being silent all the time. It means a lot to me, that after almost 2 years you still come here and tell me, that you miss my art.
To all the others: I don't care!
My life and especially my work-life has changed in the last years. When I left university in 2010 I first had a job. From 2011-2013 I became a freelance illustrator which means that I could schedule my time as I wanted. Since early 2013 I returned to a permantent job but still have my clients and do freelance work in my free time – which means, that I have 2 jobs now. And I'm running a weekly Comic-Blog since 2010. So after my job, my freelance work, my wife, my comics and all the other things you have to do in life, there is almost no time left for drawing fat girl stuff anymore.
But that doesn't mean I don't like it anymore. Several times when I had a little time, I started drawing again and there are some promising sketches in my desk. But in most cases the sketches remain sketches because I don't have the time to color them. The two new Maggie-Pages I just posted took me 1,5 years to finish. But now they are finished and I am more than happy to show them to you again.
And, as a little compensation for my long absence, I have another treat for you:
This December I present you „Koudelka's Fat Girl Advent Calender“. This December I will post something every day until Dec 24th for you. Of course I don't have 24 finished pictures, but I have a lot of sketches, some unfinished works and one or two finished works that I will upload. So I hope that will make up for all the pics I didn't post in the past. I even have sketched another Maggie-page, but I won't forecast when it'll be finished. But I promise, that in one of the next pages you even will be seing (a lot more!) Maggie again!
So I hope you like it and that I will have a little bit more time for you and this site in the future.
